World Bronchiectasis Day is celebrated every year on July 1. People living with bronchiectasis, caregivers, doctors, researchers and advocates around the world come together to raise awareness and share information about chronic lung disease.
World Bronchiectasis Day is led by an international planning committee made up of patient advocates, global patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, and leading experts in bronchiectasis care and research. Together, the committee works to increase global awareness, foster collaboration, advance knowledge, and explore solutions to reduce the burden of bronchiectasis in people around the world.
The committee is co-chaired by Tim Aksamit, MD, medical director of the Bronchiectasis and NTM Association, and Professor James Chalmers, MBChB, PhD, president of EMBARC and British Lung Foundation chair of respiratory research at the University of Dundee.
